GDP Dog Training & Classes

Obedience: Obedience is essential for a safe and happy dog. First, dogs need a leader (otherwise THEY will be the leader). The leader must provide consistent boundaries for the dog as a confused or nervous dog is not a happy dog. Second, even simple commands like "come" or "stay" may save your dogs' life some day. Most importantly we strive to aid families in living a harmonious life with their pets; a well trained dog is the second step. A well trained human is the first step.

Spring 2010 Classes starting soon... check back for details!

Agility: Agility is a great sport for you and your dog. This is a fun obstacle course that requires the handler to navigate with their dog. It promotes bonding and reaffirms obedience training. We have customers that are competitive in agility as well as those that attend "just for fun".

Flyball: Flyball is a team sport. Each team of dogs runs a relay race over jumps, does a swimmers turn on a box and returns over the jumps. As the dog makes their turn on the box a ball is released. The dog must carry that ball across the finish line. This is a timed event.

Dogs that are eligible for flyball must be well socialized, have solid obedience and be in good health.

Our flyball team is called "Spoiled Sports". Being a member of our team does require a commitment to travel several times a year.

Tracking: We offer an introduction to tracking. We can set courses for beginners or advanced trackers.

Swimming: We have an indoor pool that is utilized for rehabilitation for dogs that have had surgery or sports injuries. We also allow dogs to utilize the pool for fitness and fun with their owners.

When weather permits we offer practice dock diving and retrieval in our 3 acre pond.
